latest happenings

We went to the library today for a little program and they had a real pig! I was a little suprised Parker would get close to it, he even gave it a kiss, but I ddin't get that on camera.

Brushing each others teeth.

3 years old

I enjoy having a young child, they are really easy to please. We played at Chuck e Cheese, headed off the Toys R Us then to lunch. When I asked Parker what he wanted he replied- Muffins. I decided on Mexican since we had muffins for breakfast. When you asked Parker what he wanted for his birthday he would reply " Candles." We blew out candles 3 times! He is such a fun little boy. He got down the holding up three fingers right before his birthday and he was so excited to show everyone- even the lady in the grocery store line.

Snow fun

Watch out for the snowballs.

We got a little snow this week, more than is on the driveway- it had been plowed recently. Parker would have stayed and played all night, but Shawn and I got cold.

Newest project

I have been wanting to make a pouch sling for when the baby comes. They run around 35-60 dollars to buy. I went to JoAnns and got myself some fabric with a coupon for 6.50! It even fits Parker comfortably. Though he would rather run around.

From Catepillar to Butterfly

If you look closely you can see the wing formation.

This morning we have a beautiful butterfly. We didn't think it would be a butterfly this morning so we were pleasently suprised. We will let it go either Saturday or sunday.

2 of our catepillars are butterflys, 1 is like the first picture and the other has yet to turn from green state, but he was the last to do everything anyways,

We caught some monarch catepillars for playgroup this week. All of them are now in cocoons just waiting to turn into butterflies. We only caught the last part of one turning into a cocoon. The others were to fast for us.

Parker's visit to Gilroy Gardens

Parker took grandpa, grandma and mom to Gilroy Gardens during his visit to grandma's house. At the petting zoo a few adults were selected to release a few homing pidgeons. Kristen got selected and was able to participate. Kristen holds the pidgeon while receiving enthusiastic instruction on a proper release.
Parker and mom go for a spin on the Worm and Apple ride. Cute picture and the two riding aren't so bad either.

Parker take flight.
Riding a fire engine is always a mandatory stop at any theme park.
Parker enjoys a spin in the race car.
Up, up and away in my beautiful balloon. If you are too young to remember the tune google it.
Petting zoos are really cool. The chickens don't run fast enough to get away.
Look, the duckling has the same color hair as Parker.
What would a trip to the park be without a ride on the merry-go-round.

2009 Badger Reunion at Clear Creek

Here it is, the infamous bowery built at Clear Creek so that the Badger relatives would have a permanent place to hold the yearly ... or was that ever other year Badger shin dig.
Dad Rose hauled his new tent from CA to try it out. Ahhhh......, but this year grandma and grandpa Rose conned Buck, that's grandma Rose's younger brother, to loan them his home away from home. Who says there are no fineries in Clear Creek.
This is dad Rose's memories of his one trip to Clear Creek when he was a young boy. We passed a lot of this same memory on our way from Tremonton out to Clear Creek.
Here it is. What you have all been waiting for. This is what this part of the world is named for. Back in the day this was essential for survival when farming or working in this part of northern Utah.
By the way, it doubles as a cooler during the badger reunion.
Master Chef Paul checking out the grill prior to firing it up for the evening meal.
The Badger reunion brain trust. What more needs to be said. :-)
This is bingo night that you have all heard grandpa Rose talk about. Notice that many of the prized selected by the younger folks are hanging from the cross beams in the bowery. The bingo machine was having a little problem during this even. It had to be coerced into providing numbers several times.
This is the one room school that grandma Rose attended while she and her family lived in Clear Creek. I have other shots including some of the inside but lets just say the county doesn't stop by often to check out the livability of some of the buildings in Clear Creek much these days.
If you have been in grandpa Rose's office this might look familiar. This is the current day version of the small home he lived in while in Naf. No county visits for this place either. While grandpa Rose and I were making the rounds driving in the car grandpa point out that there was a point where he was riding in Utah and I was actually in Idaho. No we hadn't stopped to get out of the car either.
The building strategically located between the two trailors is the school grandpa Rose attended while living in Naf.
This is the Naf store on the main drag in Naf . No longer in use but evidently brings back good memories for the grandparents.
This is the Naf dance hall. Rumor has it grandma Rose cut many a rug in this place during her teenage days. Grandma specifically asked if I had stopped to take a picture so there must be a memory or two associated here too.
